IT Infrastructure Technician

Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, you will help to plan and perform the design, installation, and connectivity of computer systems and network infrastructure
to make sure the steady operation of the organisational IT resources across all of our local sites of operation. You will have a respect for Best Practice techniques and excellent
customer service skills when dealing with other internal departments and users.

As the chosen candidate, you will help to develop, design, maintain, assist, and adjust all new and present network hardware, software, and communication techniques.

You will be accountable for telephone, data centre, security systems and other related electronic infrastructure for business.

Responsibilities will include the following essential duties:

Monitor network performance and troubleshooting problem areas as required.
Oversee network traffic along with LAN and WAN installation.
Inspect LAN and WAN infrastructure for problems.
Design and install high-functioning computer network connections including cabling.
Address and solve system failures to increase network up-time.
Evaluate network functionality and create data backups.
Providing end-user PC hardware and software application trouble resolution, along with support for other IT assets onsite, such as the Local Area Network (LAN), printers, servers and email.

Required Skills

Minimum of 1 year commercial experience, ideally within a fast-moving production or logistics environment.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy
Experience with Remote Desktop Protocol
Experience VMware Server Virtualisation and VDI Environments.
Experience with MDT and Windows Servers (2012 onwards).
Experience with a modern service desk platform.
Office 365 Administration.
Full UK driving licence with own vehicle required

Preferable but not essential Skills

Experience of using VEEAM Backup and replication
Experience with SQL Database and .net/IIS Application Servers.
Experience with AVAYA VOIP Phone Systems
Cyber Security (Cyber Essentials or equivalent).
Knowledge of Best Practice Techniques.
Knowledge of Agile working practices.
Knowledge of .net Development Frameworks.
