All systems go at Cygnia Logistics

The in-house IT team at Cygnia Logistics is launching enhanced software platforms to provide greater real-time transparency and reporting on orders for its customers.

The team has upgraded the existing Gateway, Sorted and Tableau systems to align with specific customer requirements and operational improvements.

Scott Merrick, chief information officer at Cygnia, explains, “We always like to push what’s possible and make existing systems work hard for our customers. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.

“The launch of the new Gateway portal – which includes upgrades of Tableau and Sorted – follows work to give customers improved access to valuable data, business intelligence, KPI reports and real-time visibility of consignments regardless of carrier.”

The Gateway system gives customers full visibility of how the day’s work is progressing, from inventory, to picking and queries raised and makes it much easier to interact with the third-party logistics provider. It is particularly valuable for smaller businesses which need to keep tight control of their stock and orders.

Sorted gives access to real-time delivery information across multiple carriers while Tableau provides accurate and detailed reports that can help address issues and inform business development.

Chief executive at Cygnia Logistics, Glenn Lindfield, adds, “Having an in-house, IT team gives us a huge amount of flexibility in terms of the speed of onboarding staff and tailoring our capabilities to specific customer needs. Sorted, in particular, gives a broad range of delivery options, which, in turn, helps to reduce basket abandonment and ultimately increase sales.

“The role logistics plays in the customer journey, especially when it comes to being able to guarantee speed and accuracy, means that our IT team can often play a critical role in helping customers grow sales and enter new markets with confidence.”
