Cygnia bags tea contract

Cygnia Logistics has secured a contract with specialty tea company, T2, in the UK. The deal will see the Northamptonshire-based third-party logistics provider handling the Australian company’s e-commerce, wholesale and high street retail requirements across its entire range of speciality teas, tea wares and gifts.

As part of the contract, Cygnia will be providing gift wrapping and handwritten gift cards. Cygnia has also set aside a dedicated area to handle T2’s organic product ranges to eliminate the risk of contamination.

T2 was co-founded by Maryanne Shearer and Jan O’Connor in 1995. It has been credited with transforming the Australian tea market by educating consumers about tea and championing different flavours and types of tea, the rituals of tea making and tea wares. T2 entered the UK market in 2014 after it was acquired by Unilever, it now boasts a portfolio of around 200 different teas.

Under its T2 Planet commitment, the company is working to reduce its environmental impact by sourcing its teas and teawares in a sustainable and ethical way and ensuring all consumables, from gift wraps and packaging through to tasting and takeaway cups are reusable, recyclable or compostable by the end of 2020.
